Since FICMA has done in June his 18th Edition, the Barcelona international Environmental Film Festival doesn’t stop. This October is collaborates with FESTIVER Colombia and at 
the end of the month with THE GREEN NATION FILM FESTIVAL Brazil, both  new Festivals that FICMA helps to grow how alreadu has done with others.

Also in November  (23rd-26th) FICMA will participate putting the Green film in the EUROFILM FESTIVAL Marbella. One of the most important Film Festivals of the European Film 
Industry.

But that’s not all. This November Barcelona will see for the first time EL PETIT FICMA the first Environmental Film Festival for Kids and families with workshops and a lot of 
films.

The 18th International Environmental Film Festival–FICMA opens on June 1 at 6pm at the French Institute of Barcelona with award-winning French director Yann Arthus Bertrand as honour guest. The Festival, that previously premiered his film HOME on June 5 2009, will present Mr. Bertrand with the Golden Sun Prize and will screen his short film “Of Forests and Men”, the official film for the International Year of Forests narrated by Edward Norton.  The Festival will also premiere his current project “6 Billion Others”, that along with Sibylle d'Orgeval and  Baptiste Rouget, compiles the results of 5,000 people interviewed from 75 countries. 

Opening Festival: European Premiere:

This the 18th edition of the International Environmental Film Festival-FICMA, award-winning filmmaker Yann Arthus Bertrand (director of HOME) as honour guest, various Spanish Premieres and an Official Section of outstanding quality. The festival runs from June 1-8 at the Institut Francés and Alexandra Cinema in Barcelona, the Capri Cinema in the town of El Prat de Llobregat and Micrópolix in Madrid.

Opening Festival: European Premiere: "War by Other Means"

FICMA will premiere "War by Other Means" on June 1 at 9pm. This Argentinian documentary feature, directed by Emilio Cartoy Diaz Juré, shows the way indigenous people use new technology to strengthen their claims, protect the environment and fight for their rights. The film emphazises the importance of using visual media and the Internet, as a legitimate means of struggle and mass communication.
